KOCH Extends Marketing Muscle to
Indie Urban Labels & Artists
(Port Washington, NY) April 30, 2007 – Michael Rosenberg, President of KOCH Entertainment Distribution, announced today the launch of KOCH LABEL SERVICES, a new division created to offer a variety of marketing services to its roster of independent urban labels and artists. The venture was developed out of a growing need to make these vital resources available to labels that may not have them in-house.
This new service has garnered an impressive group of labels seeking to take advantage of the company’s expanded distribution services. Some of the urban artists and labels that are newly signed under KOCH LABEL SERVICES include Day One Entertainment (Khujo Goodie of Goodie Mob), Gangsta Advisory (Soopafly), Mo Thugs (Layzie Bone), Mandatory Business (JT The Bigga Figga), JWMG and Hi Power Entertainment (Mr.Capone-E).
KOCH’s internal network of marketing professionals will work closely with labels to provide them with publicity, radio promotions and advertising support. Chris Isidori, Director of Urban Music & Business Development, has been appointed to oversee the new division and focus on signing urban/hip hop projects. Angela Howard, formerly of Universal Republic Records, has been brought aboard as Urban Product Manager to handle the daily interaction with the labels.
“This new division allows us to offer independent labels and artists the power and clout of KOCH’s distribution and marketing expertise,” said KOCH’s Michael Rosenberg. “We are the market leader in urban music among independents and we intend to grow even bigger in this area while offering a better option for urban artists and labels who want to control their own destiny.”
KOCH Entertainment is the leading and fastest-growing independent music and video company in the U.S. and its operations encompass record and video labels as well as physical and digital distribution companies in the U.S. and Canada. KOCH Entertainment is the market leader among independents in both the U.S. and Canada and its record labels had the largest number of Billboard charting albums among independents in 2005/2006.
